After over 20 years of marriage my husband and I reached a point that it was either counseling or divorce. As Christians I felt strongly that we needed to counsel with a believer. After some research we found Heather. To say that she was a God send would be an understatement. I was concerned that my husband may dismiss the thoughts of another woman and feel she wouldn't understand where he was coming from. He saw early on that there was nothing to be concerned about. It was never about who was right or wrong but finding the areas that we each needed to improve in. The realization that you have to CHOOSE to change your behavior. It's not just going to magically happen. It takes work and honesty. Doing better was a choice each of us had to make in different areas. Heather helped us find that.
Heather's approach was easy conversation, talking through tough issues with no blame or reprimand. Using Biblical principles, proven programs and testing, Heather led us to the answers but allowed us to have our "Aha" moments of discovery. Talking with Marc and other men and always wanting to reach out to have good men, Christian men in my life has made it safe for me to be vulnerable and to get things out that we wouldn’t normally say to one another. A lot of men keep things in, and I have seen not just myself, but other men ‘blossom’ for the lack of a better description from being reserved. They’re not necessarily telling us all their business but it’s great that men are able to come here and be safe, no judgment and even judgment of self is what you have created here and with the other members. It has stretched me ways that I have been humbled and also proud of the whole experience. Thank you for being amazing!

When my husband and I found ourselves in a time of marital crisis, we nervously sought counseling. We wondered; would our counselor honor our faith and desire to heal and repair our marriage? Would they “side” with one of us and think poorly of the other? Could we trust someone to listen to us and understand our pain, our specific circumstances, and help us?
What we found in Heather, from our first visit, was a skilled and Godly therapist who made it clear she was “for” us and our marriage. Many times, we would arrive for our appointment thinking “what will we even talk about?”, but Heather always knew the right questions to ask to get to the heart of our conflict and confusion. She listened, advised, and even cried with us over the pain we felt from hurt we’d experienced in our church. She pointed us to Christ and reminded us of our status as forgiven and loved by God. One thing that we quote to this day, is Heather teaching us to know ourselves. As we learned more about ourselves and our tendencies and habits, we were able to show grace to one another in our differences. This was really revolutionary to us and gave us tools to communicate with each other more effectively. We will celebrate 28 years of marriage this year and we are so thankful God directed us to Heather in our hour of need. Our marriage is stronger for it! ~G&J
Marc is a seasoned leader in finance and real estate with over 25 years of experience. With his wife Elizabeth, he co-founded The Counseling Center at Park Meadows in May 2000, he's also a skilled marriage coach and counselor. For 15 years Marc and Elizabeth have been leading 3-day intensive vision retreats for couples in the beautiful Vail Valley of Colorado. With Master’s degrees in Business Management, Banking, and Counseling Psychology, Marc is dedicated to both professional success and nurturing healthy relationships. He volunteers globally and serves on Colorado nonprofit boards. Marc and Elizabeth currently lead the Marriage Ministries at their church, will soon be celebrating 25 years of marriage, and are enjoying raising four amazing young women.
Heather has over 25 years of teaching, licensed professional counseling, and leadership consulting experience. She holds two Master’s Degrees and is a dedicated faith-based Coach and Counselor committed to guiding couples towards thriving relationships. Married to John her high school sweetheart for over 30 years, an empty-nester and new grandmother to Sadie. Her expertise blends psychological insights with spiritual guidance based on scripture, fostering resilience and growth for individuals and couples. Heather blends her international experience in missions with vulnerable populations to advising diplomats. Her work of empowering couples to navigate challenges and deepen their connection is her greatest joy!
